Biography
Ed Reynolds is a painter who explores the fundamental principles of light, perspective, form and atmosphere in his work. He is a highly energetic artist, dedicated to the artistic process and quality. Thorough, in the design and presentation of any commission, paying particular attention to preparation and professional artistic practice. Ed is also a multi-instrumentalist and regularly exhibits his musical compositions and field recordings with his paintings.
Artist’s Statement
I enjoy the process of engagement, with both my subject matter and the viewer when creating my work. I invite the viewer to observe me painting en plein air, demystifying the artistic process, whilst revealing and not concealing the creativity as it happens.

A bespoke commission is an artwork made by a Ed, specifically with you in mind. It is totally unique and is often a thrilling and collaborative experience for both artist and collector.
A common misconception is that a commission will always cost the earth, and people are often too afraid to ask due to the assumption that they’ll never be able to afford it, but Ed is more than happy to work to your budget and guide you through the process. A bespoke commission can be the perfect way to commemorate a special occasion. First wedding anniversary is paper, so that’s one that we’re frequently asked about, as well as Christening presents, special birthdays and wedding presents. A starting point could be deciding on a subject matter that will resonate with the person you’re gifting it to, and from there you might have a good sense of which of Ed might be able to capture that for you. You could even ask him to include an inscription or to write a significant date on the work somewhere.
